Well, May. Where has the time gone!! I actually thought the other day I must update my web site as it was a few weeks ago I did it. Logged in and the last update was December!!! WHAT - time flies!! During that time a lot has happened so I will try and summarise it all in a nutshell!!
There have been 3 rounds of the National BMX series since then. Manchester indoor rd 1 and rd 2 and 3 at Cyclopark in Kent. I really enjoyed all of them despite being really nervous getting back into racing. The ladies were all really friendly and some good racing. It was great to pit with the dialled bike and factory team guys for the events as well. A really friendly and helpful bunch! (http://www.dialledbikes.com/Dialled_Bikes/Team.html and http://www.factoryteambikes.com/Factory_Team_Bikes/Team.html)
I got 2nd in all 3 races with Louise Abbott taking the win's. The next round in 2 weeks is on her home track so that should be fun! A big shout out to the girls who went down hard at rd 3 though. There was a MASSIVE crash down the first straight with almost the whole group going down. The picture below is a great action shot but shows how painful the next few minutes would have been. I hope they are all ok to get back on for rd 4 and 5 in 2 weeks.

Regional racing has got under way as well. Rd 1 at Bulwell, Nottingham where I raced in the ladies and won, and rd 2 at Doncaster we raced in 17+ mixed. This was a tough category with 20 people in it but I managed to make 4th in the B final and highest placed female so was really pleased with that. Next regional is at Nuneaton next weekend. I hope it stops raining by then!!
The last few months have been tough for me with my knee. It is getting worse and even been bothering me on the bike the last few weeks. Just under 80 days to the World Championships so fingers crossed I can hold out!! Been seeing a physio in my local town(http://www.sevenhillsphysiotherapy.co.uk/) who is absolutely fantastic. He has given me some great advice and exercises which has helped me out loads. If anyone needs any physio and can get to Eckington I would really recommend him! I have also been getting sports massage from Paul Dodsley in Mansfield which has made a massive difference to my training and race preparation. Again, if you can get to Mansfield contact me and I will give you his number, he is well worth a visit!!
The focus the last few months have been all around Yvie to be honest. She is doing so well on her pedal bike! She has started to get around some BMX tracks with a little help, but also managed to get around a small pump track all on her own! I have updated the videos section with some videos of her great efforts. We are going to try and get her a proper race bike and try her at a regional in Mansfield in August - so excited!!
9bar have launched a yummy new product - the breakfast bar. (http://www.9bar.com/view-article/9bar%20Breakfast/) They come in lots of different flavours and you really must try one! Here is a link to their website with a lot of different recipes using the breakfast bars and this one is divine. Cashew and cocoa cake bites: Yum Yum! http://www.9bar.com/view-article/9bar%20Cashew%20&%20Cocoa%20cake%20bites%20breakfast%20energy%20fuel%20/
Well, that was a rush getting everything down. I promise to keep you all updated more regularly in the last push to the World Championship! Over and out! The pictures have all been updated also - enjoy!
